Santa Barbara get-away

We made a quick trip to Santa Barbara this weekend for the delightful wedding of Taryn and Rodney at the Music Academy in Montecito, where I had my first and second and third non-alcohalic beer (Becks is actually not bad). We stayed at the lovely Inn at the Spanish Garden, a small boutique hotel which I'd highly recommend!!! Of course, a visit to SB requires a stop at Pierre Lafond (either on State St. or the big one in Montecito) for a slice of their delicious wine cake. And we were pleasantly surpised by the delicious wedding food (which they said they modeled after the amazing food at our wedding at The Olema Inn in Point Reyes)! We also ate at a tasty Mexican place on State Street called Carlitos - Kev was in love with his entree of Carne Asada!

Of course, we had to stop in wine country on our way back up the beautiful 101 for some wine tasting. We stopped in the quaint town of Los Olivos (in the Santa Ynez valley) for a few tastes of some yum yum yummy (but quite pricey due to small production and the boost in popularity due to the movie Sideways) tastings of Pinot and Syrah. We can never leave a winery/wine shop empty handed and brought home 2 bottles of Syrah (Qupe and Jaffurs). Countdown to the birth of Little Miss so we can start filling our wine fridge up again!!!
