Everytime I walk into the kitchen on weekends, I find Kevin hovering over Julia Child's Mastering the Art of French Cooking cookbook. And he has been drouling over this recipe for Chicken Fricasse. Well, he made it for us last night and...I don't know Julia, it just wasn't very exciting. It looked like it could be served in a TV dinner. You kind of sear the chicken in the pan with some veggies, then make this sauce with chicken broth and white wine and then, simmer the two together for a while and then reduce the sauce...but it just so ugly and grey on the plate that we'll definitely never make it again. Thank goodness I made some couscous with dates (and old-fashioned chocolate malts for dessert) that saved the day.
