||ahh, the wedding
We took Babar on a road trip to Point Reyes yesterday in celebration of our 2nd wedding anniversary for some scenic hiking (well, um, I guess you could call it that!), a picnic (sandwiches and cheese purchased from the awesome Tomales Bay Foods, home of Cowgirl Creamery) on Limintuar Beach (awesome, a new favorite and dog friendly too!) and of course, oysters at one of the most wonderful places on earth, The Hog Island Oyster Farm.
For a little background, Kevin and I got married in Point Reyes on July 12, 2003 (well, technically, in Olema) at the magical Olema Inn. We had our rehearsal dinner under a beautiful blue sky at The Hog Island Oyster Farm, and our morning-after brunch in the delightful garden at The Station House Cafe in Point Reyes Station. So, it's crazy because exactly 2 years ago, we were running around like mad people preparing for our dreamy, magical wedding in the amazing Point Reyes.
So, we picked up 2 dozen oysters from Hog Island (hmm, looks like they've raised their prices a tad) and headed back to the city for a feast. A serious feast!!!!!!!!!!!!
We devoured the oysters (raw, bbq'ed on the Weber and topped with a little concoction of sauteed chard and bacon bits - posting on RR) - 1 dozen each, might I add!!!! In the meantime, Kevin was doing a serious roasting job on the gas grill with a couple of Cornish Game Hens - mesquite wood chips and all. I've never seen us completely pick apart those baby chickens like the way we did last night - they were POLLOS FANTASTICOS!!!!!!!!!!!!! Kevin, you must share on RR!!!!!!!!!!!!! We finished our meal off with some s'mores on the Weber!
By the end of our day, we had gone through 2 1/2 bottles of wine...yeah, just like the days on our honeymoon! he he! And I'm fasting the rest of the day today!
